The Psychology of Money
by Morgan Housel
Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness. Housel argues that financial success is more about behavior than intelligence.
My Review
The most readable and humane finance book I have encountered. Housel's twenty short chapters each deliver a single, durable idea — the concept of 'enough' being the most profound. His argument that doing well with money correlates weakly with intelligence and strongly with behavior is both liberating and empirically grounded. The chapter on tail events, showing how a handful of decisions determine the majority of life outcomes, reshaped how I evaluate risk and opportunity in financial modeling. I recommend this to colleagues inside and outside finance without reservation.
